A Few Days Before Installation Day
During the days leading up to installation day, you can expect someone from your contractor’s company to arrive at your home to deliver a dumpster. This dumpster is necessary so they can properly dispose of whatever waste and debris the roof removal caused. If your contractor recycles shingles, they might even deliver a second dumpster.
Installation Day
On installation day itself, work with your roof replacement services provider to take the appropriate steps to protect your garden. Ask if they can cover your flowers and shrubbery, and, if not, you can always do that yourself. If you have special requests or boundaries to establish, let the person in charge know in advance to avoid miscommunication.
Final Day
During the final day of the project, you can expect your contractor to do a final walk-through with you. That way, you can make sure that they did everything upon which you agreed. At this time, the contractor will also do a sweep of your yard with a metal detector and magnet to pick up loose nails and any debris that they might have missed.
Post Installation (1-3 Days Later)
A few days after the installation, the contractor’s company will likely send someone to pick up the dumpster. You can also expect a representative to arrive at a previously agreed date in order to conduct a general review of the job and collect the final payment. Depending on your roofing system, they may also register your roof warranty.
